Foundation Stage
Early Years (Foundation Stage 1, Foundation Stage 2, Year 1)
Children in the Foundation Stage learn through a play in a child-led, provocation-based approach designed enable children to progress socially, emotionally and academically.
Classrooms are carefully crafted to provide purposeful opportunities for children to learn in line with their specific, individual targets and goals.
Our play-based approach continues into Year 1, as we carefully bridge the gap between the EYFS curriculum and the National Curriculum for England.
We recognise that, as children enter Year 1, some children may need further opportunities to work on their Early Learning Goals, whilst others will be ready to access academic objectives for Year 1. Teaching in this hybrid way allows teachers to provide focused, targeted individual and small group teaching to ensure all children continue making excellent progress across the year.
Our hope is that our Early Years children become independent, resilient and inquisitive learners, ready to take on the challenges of the next step in their journey.
