About Community
Dubai British School Mira is a true community school. Situated in the heart of the Mira community, the school is a central hub for families to come together to connect, both in and out of school hours.
As a community school, we appreciate that by working together, we can achieve more and recognise that everyone has a role to play in building a strong, thriving community.
It takes a community to raise a child!
There are many ways to get involved with our school community, and we look forward to harnessing these relationships as the school grows.
Partnerships with Parents
We believe that you should be well-informed about every aspect of your child’s educational experience. We commit to building a strong relationships with you, as parents, in the best interests of your child. We have an open-door policy at DBS Mira and communicate regularly with you to keep you well informed regarding your child’s progress. Community Workshops provide opportunities for parents to upskill in a range of areas, so that parents feel confident in supporting their child’s growth and development at home.
Parent Representatives
Each class will have a parent representative who will run the class WhatsApp group and be the ‘bridge’ between parents and the school. Parent Representatives are responsible for bringing forward the voice of the parents, providing constructive feedback at regular meetings with the Senior Leadership Team. Parent Representatives help to shape the direction of the school and are a hugely valued body of the school.
Community Committee
The Community Committee is a body made up of parents and staff who are responsible for: organising and executing community and charity events, harnessing opportunities for community growth and welcoming new members of the community with open arms.
