At Dubai British School Mira, we believe that strong wellbeing provision must underpin everything we do to ensure our entire community is able to thrive. In line with the OECD definition, we believe ‘wellbeing’ to be the “psychological, cognitive, social and physical functioning and capabilities that students need to live a happy and fulfilling life”.
Essentially, we aim for students to enjoy their time both in and out of school so that they can have high aspirations for themselves and go on to achieve high levels of success, in – line with their personal goals.

Our Commitments to Our Key Stakeholders:

Wellbeing of Children

We commit to educating children to better understand their physical and emotional health. We will equip the students with the tools to build secure and lasting relationships, and develop their understanding of how to deal with the friendship challenges they may face.
We will teach children how to regulate their emotions and how to feed their bodies and minds to become strong, resilient and successful young people. We will safeguard children for every moment they are in our care and protection.

Wellbeing of Parents

We commit to supporting parents throughout their child’s journey at the school. We will offer abroad range of Community Workshops, shaped by parental feedback, to upskill out community across both academic and personal areas. We promise to be transparent so that parents do not face ‘surprises’ related to their children, and feel well informed about how their child is progressing and how to support them further. We will be with you every step of the way.

Wellbeing of Staff

We commit to supporting the mental health and wellbeing of our staff, employing a strategic lens on all that we do so that systems are streamlined, communication is clear and your voice is heard. We
will support staff in developing a sound understanding of their own wellbeing and how to proactively promote this, alongside a commitment to supporting professional growth and development. We promise to continually reflect on our requests and expectations to ensure they are realistic and achievable in order for you to thrive.
