Welcome to Dubai British School Mira, a community school which keeps people at the heart. Our guiding philosophy of ‘Enjoy, Aspire, Achieve’ sets our tone and direction: ensuring children are happy and enjoy school, in order to set and achieve their individual goals.

As Founding Principal, I am both honoured and excited to lead DBSM, the fourth branch of the well-reputed Dubai British Schools group, to excellence, and as such make the following commitments to the community:

  • We will provide the highest standard of education so that children will thrive academically, socially and emotionally. We will provide focused and relevant training for teachers to support their professional development, and will host regular sessions to deepen parental understanding of our approaches.
  • We will listen actively to our parents, teachers and children to ensure everyone has a voice in shaping the direction of the school.
  • We will operate transparently, so all are aware of the school’s vision and associated steps, decisions that are made and so that parents feel fully informed regarding their child’s learning and progress.

I believe that fostering positive relationships is the key to success, and will actively engage in getting to know each individual child and their family. I am passionate about removing barriers for children, whatever they may be, to set them on the pathway to success. I recognise that each child is on their own, unique journey, and will lead the team in empowering children to seek this path and build confidence in working towards their goals. Furthermore, we will provide inclusive and supportive classroom environments that are well-equipped for teaching children the skills required for their futures.

Introducing George Stokes, our Founding Head of Primary at DBS Mira! With over a decade of leadership experience within National Curriculum for England schools in the UAE, George brings a wealth of expertise to our school community. He holds a Masters in Education, reflecting his dedication to professional growth and excellence in education.

Most recently, George served as a Founding Member and Deputy Headteacher at The Arbor School, where he played a pivotal role in establishing the school and shaping its vision. Throughout his career, George has led impactful educational projects, excelling in teaching and learning, curriculum design, and fostering positive behavioral systems. His leadership has driven school improvement and enhanced student achievement.

George believes deeply in the power of trust and teamwork, fostering a collaborative environment where every member of the community feels valued and supported. With his expertise and commitment to building strong relationships, George is perfectly positioned to lead DBS Mira’s primary school on its journey to excellence.

Originally from Serbia, Duka has called Dubai home for nearly a decade and has spent the last seven years working in premium British schools. Understanding how important it is to find the right school for your child, Duka’s goal is to make your transition to DBS Mira as smooth and reassuring as possible. The admissions team is here to support you every step of the way, ensuring your child feels welcomed and inspired from day one. Duka and the team are passionate about helping students enjoy learning, reach their full potential, and thrive in a community that celebrates their growth. It is a great honour to introduce myself to as Head of Inclusion at Dubai British School Jumeira. With 15 years in education across a variety of settings and 10 years of teaching and leadership experience in the UAE, I am incredibly excited to bring the inclusive, community-focused vision of our leadership team into reality.

My career started in a special education school in the UK and quickly transitioned into primary teaching and a SENCO position in a school close to St Albans, where I grew up. I also spent 10 summers in the USA, leading a lifeskills and independence transition program for young adults, which started at a summer camp.

My career path in the UAE has included Year Leader, Head of Inclusion, and Assistant Headteacher, and has now expanded to becoming Director of Inclusion, Well-being and Pastoral Care across three schools. I have also completed some private consultancy work, supporting young people and their families in navigating the challenges that can be experienced in accessing the best pathways for a happy, independent and fulfilled future.

I recognise and greatly value the vital role a school plays in helping children develop independence and skills for the future and want to ensure that every student who enrols at Dubai British School Jumeira has access to the right nurturing and support to allow them to maximise their potential in every aspect of their lives.

Beyond my working life, I spend most of my time with my young family enjoying all of the wonderful activities that Dubai has to offer. I also enjoy playing football, paddle tennis and keeping as fit as I can in the gym.

My aim is to contribute to building a school which provides our children and families with a community where they feel accepted, supported and happy.

As the Head of Admissions, Nikki is dedicated to helping families navigate the admissions process with ease and transparency. With her extensive knowledge and approachable demeanor, Nikki ensures that every family feels welcome and informed.
